The Lighthouse is closed from October 15th through the winter, but you can still see the grounds and walk along the trails when the park is open. Great views and informative signs on the history of the area. Will be back in the summertime for more hiking!
Iconic lighthouse. It's always a favorite of mine to see when I visit the North Shore. The hiking trails around it offer great views from the shore and the history center is very well done.
Great stop. Worth the money to walk on the trails. Though they are very steep if going to the lake
This is a truly best location in this area for photographers. You can get to the beach by walking just a little from the parking and catch amazing colors of sunset or sunrise! Check out the photos!
Split Rock is a Minnesota Icon. It is an absolutely beautiful light house in a phenomenal location. The visitor center is large with a nice gift shop and a number of interesting displays. The light house itself is well kept and you can climb up to the top to check it out. There is a nicely maintained trail to the beach down below for great photo opportunities or just tossing some rocks in the water. This is a great place to stop for just a few minutes or a few hours.
