There are many state parks along the north shore but for stunning visual landscapes, this park tops all. The only missing thing would be waterfalls and large rivers but for sights along the lake, cliffs, and woods, this is the best any time of year - many of the best viewpoints are a long way from the lighthouse and this park actually has a lot of land that could be explored if there were more paths.

We are from Georgia and were in Minnesota working. While looking for interesting things to do besides the obvious (zoos, magnificent lakes, etc), we discovered Split Rock. The drive was beautiful on the way and the tour was very interesting. They have a nice gift shop as well.

10/10 Would go back in the Fall/Early Winter. If you dress warm enough, it's worth experiencing Lake Superior in October/November when the waves are high and the leaves are changing colors.

Beautiful beyond words. We went on a cold, crystal clear day and it was breathtaking. Wonderful welcome center, helpful staff, great gift shop, and clean restrooms. They also have a short video about the history of the lighthouse and why it was built. I can't wait to go back.

By far one of the best destinations along the North Shore of Minnesota. If you're in the area, you need to stop by! The staff are knowledgeable and the guided tours are really interesting. You also have the option to explore on your own if you're not interested in a guided experience.

If you have the time, and the weather is amicable, I highly recommend taking the hike down the trail to the shore. It's a relatively easy hike down, however, it would be tougher with a stroller or wheelchair. Prepare yourself for some moderate exertion. If you're able to wear your child in a carrier or 'Boba Wrap' style, you'll be better off.

Very interesting.Historic place well suited for adults and children. Friendly staff and incredible views of Lake Superior. Entrance fees could certainly be cheaper. Found things to be rather expensive.
